So Far, So Good!

A Wonderful “Fork to Fork” Gold Country Tour started in Rocklin on April 25^th and after a beautiful drive through the “Mother Lode”, we finished with a tasty BBQ lunch at Larry and Sharron Luck’s fantastic home near Coloma.  Nice weather as well as nice people and food!  Nyle and Kathleen Baker also helped make our first event a winner. Another Winner!  On May 2^nd, our Midyear explorers took to the back roads with Chet and Terrie’s beautiful “Classic Car Retreat” as the destination.  All those attending gave the hosts a “two thumbs up” review of their setting, BBQ tri-tip, and fellowship.  Twenty one Sting Rays made the trip with several Bay Area Vettes joining in the fun! Steve Scott shared the advantages of his new FIVE (5) speed tranny set up to go with his 502/502 engine!  Cool cruzin.  Thanks to Nyle and Kathleen Baker for being the “leaders” through the back roads.

On May 23^rd, Our River Road Tour & BBQ will start at McDonalds, Pocket Road east of I-5 at 9:00 am to Isleton. The Capitol City Solid Axle (C-1) Club will join us.  $10.00 in advance for lunch. Call Mark @ (916) 933-2340. Should be a great drive & display!

The Jasper’s Corvette Show is not on for June 13^th, so there’s no conflict with the Lake Tahoe event.  The All Corvette Display was unfortunately scheduled for the 23^rd of May and we’ll be at Isleton enjoying the River Road.  I just found out from the Jasper’s owner, not from the Sponsor group, whoever that is.

The Lake Tahoe Corvette Show for June 11^th, 12^th and 13^th in South Shore has had great advance reservations and the hotel rooms are sold out.  Ernie can be reached at (530) 542-0485 and may have alternative lodging.  $75.00 per car with pre-registration (which includes lots of goodies & food).  We’ll probably have a local caravan going on Friday the 11^th, meeting at Raley’s @ U.S. 50 and El Dorado Hills Blvd.  Call 933-2340 for info.
